Aim and method

Production - To increase and broaden the county's food production while simultaneously increasing competitiveness and profitability. Innovation - Aims to enable new business ideas and innovations, creating an environment where it's easy to realize and commercialize them. Doing Business - Aims to strengthen existing contact networks and build new ones throughout the county's entire food chain. Attitudes - The aim is to increase interest in local and Swedish-produced food and highlight the added benefits associated with Swedish food production. Increased Self-sufficiency - Aims to create conditions for continued food production in the county, even during disruptions. It also seeks to broaden production, find new production possibilities, and support key actors in their preparedness work.

Background

This action plan comes from the Jönköping County regional food strategy, which in turn is based on Sweden's national food strategy.

Monitoring and ownership

Both the Jönköping County Administrative Board and the Jönköping Region are responsible for the action plan, with the County Administrative Board primarily overseeing its implementation.

Implementation and Results

A success factor is the Gårdsrundan, a weekend where farms, farm shops, food artisans, cafés, and restaurants open their doors to highlight the very best of the county's local food production and refinement. Besides that, it was difficult to find results on how the action plan has been implemented or if results could be measured in response to the implementation.
