Aim and method

To expand the market for organic products by focusing on public procurement and promoting a culture of healthy eating.

Background

The policy was initiated due to environmental concerns and the need to enhance Denmark's image as a sustainable country. The government collaborated with numerous partners, including organic farming organizations, various ministries, and municipalities. The policy was developed through a comprehensive and participatory process involving diverse stakeholders.

In Copenhagen, 90% of the food in public kitchens is organic, which demonstrates the success of this policy.
